Piet Brouwer: "Royal Bodewes Scot Carrier delivered"

Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology built the entire electrical package, including engineering, switchboards and bridge consoles for this vessel. We also supplied the axle generators, bowthruster drives, bowthruster engines and fire detection systems, while sister company Marble Automation provided the alarm- and monitoring system. The first in a series of seven vessels of the type Bodewes Trader ‘Dry Cargo’, MV Scot Carrier, has been completed by the Scheepswerf Royal Bodewes yard. 

Dry Cargo

The Bodewes Trader ‘Dry Cargo’ vessels vary in length from 80 to 100 metres and have a DWT of around 5,000 tonnes. As the four vessels are each intended for a different customer, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology developed a standard concept with innovative and flexible starting points. The technical equipment on each ship is flexible, making it possible to respond quickly to customer-specific requirements such as changes in suppliers, generator setup, bridge console choice or cargo-specific requirements. The lighting package is also designed to allow each customer to decide between LED-based or conventional. They can also choose from a range of different brands for the various components, ensuring that the end result corresponds as closely as possible to any distinct wishes.

Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is currently busy installing the electrical system onboard MV Tasman, the second in the series of seven Bodewes Trader vessels. MV Tasman is expected to be delivered at the end of March.
